I do miss THE press. I mean the actual fourth estate that enjoyed kicking a candidate in the groin for shit they pulled for prestige, recognition, for a Pulitzer, but mostly because it is was their job. Today, Watergate never would have been covered.
I saw that clip from the view, and it did remind me of times past...actual follow up questions, actually pinning a candidate down until he gave an answer. Kinda made me all warm inside.
I have to seriously question the sanity of a large portion of the population that would have us continue down this hellish road we're on. Seriously. Is it the taxing liberal shit again? If one takes the time to look at both tax plans, it is clear that most people won't be affected, and those that are can really afford a bit more.Okay, I realize none of the 48% is spreak of actually checks facts, because Rush is right, and Bush would be a good fella to have a beer with, and maybe they could go moose hunting with sarah...
But really, how stupid can people be when they see trillions of dollars thrown away (long term) on an unnecessary war, a health care crisis for many in the country, domestic spying on a level unheard of in THIS country, yet still a climate of fear and vulnerability, infrastructure crumbling away, public transportation still languishing as a priority, an economy that is floundering and another public bailout of an under regulated industry. How the fuck do you look at that and say "McPalin sounds good, I'll vote for them. After all, I'm doing all right, too bad about all the other people. They should find better jobs."
This country is on the brink of going to shit (more so) because of self-interested asswipes. Swell.
Sorry for the rant Albert (and all who witnessed it here)

I was in NYC as well Thursday at Columbia in the media room covering the Obama/McCain Service Nation event. I went outside at one point to see the size of the crowd watching from outside and in the distance, I could see one of the the spotlights reaching up to the sky and it was pretty surreal.

It was once I was on the 10:30 train home that I saw both lights as we crossed back into Jersey. It was neat and captivating at the same time seeing these two lights reach so high into the sky and then light up the lower cloud ceiling.

Good post, Albert.
