I have been the proud owner of the D3 for nearly a year now. I keep on asking myself how can Nikon improve on this camera. Then they brought out the D3s and the D3x. Still the D3 will be more than a good work horse for me for a few years yet. Maybe I will be saying the same about the D4 in the next couple of years.

The shots I've seen from the D3 at high ISO are bonkers. Bonkers I tells ya! The Canons were ISO kings until the D3. Let's see how the full production run models are and we'll see if there are 1D MIII like problems. At almost twice the price, I don't think the 1Ds MIII is twice the camera, but hey, both are so far out of my price range I shouldn't be saying anything.

If the 5D Mark II offers anything close to the speed of the D3, then Canon will have built walls around 3 sides of it.

Remember the 1D Mark III offers 10fps and the 1DS Mark III at 21 megapixels is close to competing with medium format digital.
