Inky Umbrellas

A commenter on my flickr stream made a good point on the above photo.

i've yet to see one of these umbrellas in action.

And I thought about it for a sec and noticed that I couldn't recall ever seeing one in action in the four years I've lived here. Odd.

Have you? Do you have one?

I knew a guy who worked for the Inquirer who HAD one, he just refused to use it, he thought it was too gaudy. He was right!

I actually have seen one in action once. It was so surprising to see one in use that it made an impression on me. A mother with a small child was using it on Market Street, about a month ago, during a fairly intense rainstorm. I was impressed that it held up so well, as my own umbrella turned inside out three times that day.
