R2 PO Box

I saw on engadget or Gizmodo last week or the week before how the US Postal Service was going to roll out these R2D2 post office boxes across the US as part of a [media] campaign celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Star Wars series. I was hoping I'd get to see one and I did.

I passed by the one above at Broad and Locust, SW corner, yesterday and totally geeked out. I went back today to take a photo of it. Fucking awesome.

I hope to see more around town in the coming weeks.

I can't imagine how much this cost.

    Albert, that is really fantastic…and a nice nighttime shot. I have to walk over and see that one in person…glad you found it.

    I saw a 7 or 8 year old kid just standing there staring at one of these things earlier today. He was absolutely enthralled.
