Technological Phone Banking

I haven't tried it myself yet, but eRobin over at Fact-Esque is asking for people to spread the word so spread I will… It's for a campaign to get a higher turnout at the polls. From her post

We need four hundred people to each call one hundred names on our list. That's about two hours of work per person. Trust me, it goes by more quickly than you may imagine. The script is short and direct. The focus voters are people we need to get to the polls if we want to see some change in the direction this country. Please make the jump and find out how you can spend a couple of hours helping to get this country back on track.

It involves a nifty little application which ties the phone you have at your home (cell or land line) to a central computer which does all the dialing. The computer looks for a person to call for you and then dials it. You then respond to prompts on your own computer which is also linked into the call. More details at eRobin's place .

I hate me some phonebanking, but this is just so technologically cool, I may just have to give this a try. If you've got some time, check it out. If you've used this Pop Vox application, or something similar, before, lemme know what you think of it.

THANK YOU Albert for writing about this. I don't love phone banking either but I really want these women to get out and vote this year and every year afterwards. If we let them sit another one out, we're losing a reliable progressive voice and we clearly can't afford to do that anymore.

    Thanks again!!!!!!!
