Giants Wooped the Falcons

And I got to watch the second half! What looked like a twenty-hour weekend of work got cut down by about two hours right during the second half and I rushed on over to Barrister's on 18/Sansom to catch the game on the plasma screen upstairs. I helped myself to a pint and fifteen wings. There was a smattering of Giants fans upstairs as I could tell from the applause in response to some nice plays on the Giants behalf.

Tiki had a big game and absolutely clobbered one of the Falcons' secondary on his longest run of the day. Straight up gave him a forearm shiver to the chest while gaining an extra five yards. When one of the leagues top rushers is running with a full head of steam at you, the best thing to do isn't to arm tackle, you gotta get your body in there, get a hit in, wrap him up and take him down.

Shockey actually caught a few passes… and two TDs! His first multiple TD game in his career. About fucking time. From looking at the box score, it doesn't look like they threw him the ball in the first half. You gotta get Shockey involved early on. It instantly puts the LBs and safeties in check when you have an involved TE out there. The LBs can't cheat and the safeties are drawn in to help out a lot. That's gonna free up Plax and Carter up top, give Toomer more room to move around for space and let Tiki get out on the flat if the needs to. Let's see if Eli sticks to passing to Shockey next Monday night at Dallas.

I paid $150 for a ticket to see the ass whipping in person. Tiki is a great back and he sliced through the Falcon's D-line over and over and when he wasn't doing that he caught passes out of the backfield. I'm a Giants fan but I thought my Falcons would play better than they did. The Falcons passing game just sucks!
