After a month, a lateral promotion and a raise? Sweet! Is that a record? Nice to see my ten bajillion hours of effort at my new jobby job have not gone to waste. I got the news Thursday evening at the end of the work day. I'll be doing some different work than I've been doing so far. It'll be work additional to the stuff I'm already doing, but a lot of what I've been doing will be taking a secondary role during the colder months.

Things are constantly new at work which is great. I'm learning new things and contributing to projects using knowledge I've mostly taught myself in the last few years which is really cool.

The first week of work in the new month hasn't been too hectic either. A more normal work week in terms of hours which is a very nice change from the crazy first month. I'm really enjoying myself at work. Liking what I do for a living takes such a huge weight off of my shoulders. That weight of dread associated with an unlikable job is more than one thinks it is. I'm thankful I found this place.

Now with this raise, I'll be able to get me a new pair of glasses! Maybe next paycheck. The Krazy Glue which was holding my last pair of glasses together just wasn't cutting it anymore and I gave up trying to keep them together. Not that I wear the glasses very often - only at night before bed - but it's good to give the eyes as much rest out from underneath soft contact lenses as possible.
