MIA
I've been a busy little bee these last few days. Two interviews, a couple shoots for CityGuide and concentrating more at work to make up for the time I was out at interviews on Wednesday [took the whole day off] and Thursday [3/4 day]. I wasn't swept away by adoring Japanese women as a result of the Korean Wave [my people have become sex symbols?!], I'm very much still here in Philly, but now, with a NEW JOB!
I had a really good interview on Thursday. It lasted all of ten minutes or so. I took the trolley back to City Hall and got out to walk the rest of the way home and I got a call from the interviewer asking me if I could come back to the office, I said that I couldn't – I had something to do at 6p and it was already almost 5p – so we hashed it out over the phone for a bit. I wasn't the best fit for the job, but she wanted me to join the staff anyways and she carved out a spot for me with more creative possibilities. I'm happy. I'm psyched. I'm starting at Noon! I get to go into the temp job and tell them I'm quitting, wrap up loose ends for a few hours and then take off for my new jobby job to get situated.
I'm not sure yet how much I'll be discussing the job publically. But it's a non-profit and I really like the company and have been aware of them for awhiles now. I'm glad I can be a part of it at this juncture and hopefully for a good while longer.
My boss is a transplant from NYC [we're taking all the jobs and driving up housing prices in one fell swoop!] and she seems pretty cool. I didn't get a chance to meet anyone else during my ten minutes in the office, but I'm sure I'll get the grand tour at Noon.
I'm gonna have health insurance for the first time in almost a year and a half. Thankfully, I haven't had any ailment that some simple cold medicine couldn't fix. But it'll be nice to have it there "in case shit" as Chris Rock would say. I hope there's some kind of vision coverage in there, my glasses [which I only wear at night before bed] broke Wednesday night for good.
I'm excited. And now, to reel off a few posts before a busy day of work.

Yes, congratulations! Especially on your new role as a cultural sex symbol. I know that you will at all times endeavor to be both sensitive and ripped. Or at least ripped.
