City Paper Sculpture

city paper sculpture

I saw this right across the street from The Last Drop on 13/Pine Sts. I wonder if it was a random First Friday installation.

It seems to be made up of rolled up sheets from the City Paper. Not sure what kind of a statement it's making, but the triangles forming hexagons is pretty cool nevertheless.

***UPDATE 8.06.06
As of Sunday afternoon, it's all smooshed, but all the rolled up pieces are still there next to the honor box.

pretty freaking awesome – especially as it's been still too hot for the likes of someone like me to build it outside…

Could it be the work of Mark Jenkins?

Beautiful. When's the last time you saw a PW box spewing forth aabstract sculpture?

Strange things seem to appear at that newspaper box. I remember at some point during the winter there was a creepy-looking plush dog toy sitting on that box. It was mutilated and had fake blood on it and stuff. I don't remember it too well, but it was definitely on that same corner.
