al-Zarqawi

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in an air raid. Dan Rubin points to an interview with Michael Berg, father of Nicholas Berg who was decapitated on video allegedly by al-Zarqawi. Berg said:

I have no sense of relief, just sadness that another human being had to die.

I heard Berg speak at a small gathering at a church in West Philly on the fourth anniversary of 9.11 where he told us that he had no feelings of revenge for his son's killing. More of Berg's comments today via AP.

Remember that it is:
*Day 1725 since W said he wanted Osama Bin Laden "Dead or Alive"
*Day 1314 since the declaration of "Mission Accomplished" in Iraq

We have lost this war and we have failed to capture the man directly responsible for the 9.11 attacks on our soil. The death of al-Zarqawi does not resonate with me. I do not think this will lead to any change. Perhaps this is a temporary morale boost for our troops overseas. I don't think it will help them get through another four years. They need to be brought home.
