I took that shot of myself over by the Parkway around 22nd St on the return leg of what was about a ten mile hike around town. I calculated the walk using this handy dandy Google Map API Pedometer.

I trekked from Washington Square West up to the Girard College area. I took along my photo gear on the four hour trek. But that was definitely not enough to prepare my ass for the bike ride to work. Using the same pedometer, I'm told it's a 5.8mi bike ride to work while Google Maps tells me it's 4mi. Hmm. Basically the same exact route, 1.8mi off?

Anyways, I'm happy with this crop of the original. I just stuk my D70 with my 12-24mm f/4 on top of my gear bag and set the timer and took some shots. I wanted the vanishing point in the shot as well, but the ones with me off to the side a bit just didn't work out as well. As a result, the focal point of the image is my right wrist. Funny.
