Ghost Cat

ghost cat - fairmount
There's one shot of a ghost cat of Eastern State Penitentiary in my flickr set from a year ago, but I came across this cat a few blocks north and west of ESP yesterday while walking around for about four hours and couldn't help but think it was an actual ghost cat.

It was quite large, tall at the shoulder and long from head to tail. And very, very white. Not a muddy white, but a thick coat of white white. It mewed at me as I walked up to the iron fencing. I stuck out my hand for it to sniff and it did. I reached through the fence to scratch it and it didn't like that too much. It hissed at me a bit and bared it's worn down teeth at me, swatting a paw for good measure as well. Then it just stopped and sat there twitching its tail for a couple of minutes. Then, it looked back towards the landscaped garden from whence it emerged.
