For what it's worth, I surprised even myself by giving a vote to Pennachio...instead of Casey, who I long-planned on supporting. Some of the information on this blog convinced the rebel in me to vote for Pennachio...even at the long odds of Pennachio actually winning...because I admire that he puts himself out there and takes a stand on issues that others (including Casey) play safe with. Too many politicians (and news media, for that matter) play it safe by trying to appease everyone. Ultimately, Pennachio may have been the best for the job, and I even gave a vote to Roberts for Lieutenant Gov. because she really was the best one running for the job. My vote also went against the Video Surveillance referendum. At the end of the day, despite the odds of my votes turning those three things into winners, I feel great and slept well last night knowing that I supported what I really believed in at the time when it meant the most. Hopefully other people around here did the same and they took a chance on something they believed in.
