Vote Before Work Tuesday
I want to remind you about tomorrow's Democratic primary election. The polls will be open from approximately 7a to 8p. Find your polling place here.
There are a lot of good people to vote for, but I'll select two who are in statewide big time races. Valerie McDonald Roberts for Lt. Governor and Chuck Pennacchio for US Senate. I interviewed Valerie last week, you can read about here and there's a link to her campaign website from that post. There's a link to Chuck's website on the right side of this blog and I've been writing about him every week for the past many months. If you've missed it, type in "Pennacchio" into the search block underneath the photo of him at top.
It's going to rain tomorrow, so turnout will be lower than a normal low turnout primary. Every vote will carry that much more weight in these state wide races. Your vote will be even more important. I urge you all to vote for these two wonderful people I've gotten to know over the last few weeks and months. I've been volunteering on Chuck's campaign for a year now and I can't tell you how inspiring it is to be around a candidate like him. In the run up to the general election against Sen. Man on dog, I hope that many of you will volunteer a few hours of your time, we'll need it.
Email your friends. Tell them to vote. Tell them to tell their friends and them to tell their friends. Voting on election day is a way to do the absolute minimum in participating in our democracy twice a year. Participate and democracy wins.

the best thing about voting before work is you hear none of that "preliminary results" crap to discourage you (memories of my 1st election – dukakis v. reagan – come to mind)

voting for chuck, or casey, is a daunting prospect. on one hand, we hear about all this grass-roots support for chuck; yet, on the other hand, the safe bet(money) appears to be weighted on the casey side. i've been fully ready to stand behind the democratic party, which is throwing the might of its weight on casey's side. but i may toss chuck my vote today because i believe in a vote for fresh air and those more in touch with the people. here's an interesting article that gives chuck more creedance: http://www.mydd.com/story/2006/5/7/8198/20256

Hey, It's Election Day!…
Hey, it is election day! And, depending on where you live, you might actually have a contested race in this primary. Since virtually every state legislator took the pay raise — the real tricky ones voted against it and……
