I currently do not have cable at my apartment as I've recently moved. They're coming to install it on Saturday. Does anyone in Philly have a spare cushion on their couch to share with me to watch the RNC and rant and watch the Daily Show and laugh?

I have no idea what this is of, but it was taken by rion at the RNC protest. Rock on.

That shot is of the NYPD on scooters. How hilarious is that. I don't know which is less menacing, cops on bikes or cops on scooters. You decide. Photo by overshadowed.
There was quite a bit of action going on in NYC for the RNC protest this Sunday with the United for Peace and Justice rally/march all through Manhattan and Critical Mass's bike ride among many other things that I am totally unaware of since I'm not in the middle of it all.
The New York Times has a nice slide show of Sunday's activities. And if you don't want to register for NYTimes, use Bug Me Not to use an already generated login.
NYPD reports approximately 200 arrests and an estimated 500,000 people attending the UFP&J Rally. I suspect that the latter number is waaay low.

I really wish I could be up in NYC for the week. Taking photos, protesting, organizing… not working. I saw this beauty on Gothamist along with another great shot of the Madison Square Garden protesters. I just hope that this is the stuff that makes the news all over the place and I hope that there is no violence because if there is, you know that that is what they'll show instead. In order to get Kerry-Edwards into office, we're going to have to do it without outbursts of violence no matter how much we are prodded.
I remember when I was in school in DC and I attended an IMF/World Bank protest and I also used the event as a project one my photo class; it would later be included in my New Media Online Portfolio at school in NY. At that A16 protest, I witnessed a Korean journalist be struck in the head and beaten to the ground by a DC Metro cop. We formed a circle around him until he could get some medical attention; I snapped a photo of him while in the cricle. I was also rammed while reloading my film by a cop on a motorcycle and sprayed with some seriously strong police-issue pepper spray. I don't recall seeing a single act of violence aimed back towards the cops during my 2 days out in the streets, but I know that there was some.
I don't know where I'm going with this one, but I just know that I really want to be there for the politics involved as well as the opportunity to practice my art. Another time, another place.

So here is Pittsburgh Brewing Company's signature product, Iron City Beer, in their new aluminium "bottles" and I put bottles in quotations, because I consider a container of beer in an aluminum casing a can. A bottle implies glass, right? Am I wrong? It just tastes better out of a bottle, without that tinny taste you get when sipping from a can. Not to knock cans, they're oh so easy to transport, without fear of breaking glass, but they just don't taste as good. The only beers that I regularly drink out of cans are the ones with the nitrogen pills in them like Guinness or Boddington's. Mmmm – expensive beeeeer.

I saw this flyer pasted to the side of a building in Northern Liberties while coming out of an appointment for work. I've been putting going to it for so long now. I always find an excuse to not go, but once Lady's gone, I will most likely have none, that is, until I buy Madden… But if you've been to this, lemme know how it is and when the best time to show up. One of my coworkers went [drunk] and had a blast, but he wasn't the most coherent explainer of the goings on over there.

Above is a photo of all of my/Lady's stuff in the living space. If you'd kindly look to your right you'll see that the only thing that is not chaotic is my DVD rack. Niiiice rack.
They came, they saw, did they conquer? I won't know for a little while, because I don't have cable right now. Living my new apartment, which is great and all, I don't have cable at the moment because the apartment doesn't show up in the company's system. I never did get to run into any of the Real Worlders, but it seemed so blasé after like a month. From what I've heard, Illy didn't take too kindly to the Real Worlders being here. I'll have to wait until my cable is hooked up to see the special sneak peek of what is to come. I believe the special was on tonight. I do know that the season officially kicks off on September 7th. If anyone's having a Real World Illy party, lemme know. I shall come and eat your food and bring Lager.
